Gamers hoping for a 2024 release for Styx: Blades of Greed will need to adjust their expectations. Cyanide Studio has announced a delay, pushing the launch of the stealth-action RPG to February 19, 2026.

The studio detailed the decision in a Steam blog post, explaining that the additional time will be used to polish the game and ensure a high-quality experience for players. The delay reflects a growing trend in the gaming industry, where developers are prioritizing refinement over strict release schedules.

“The developers are taking a few extra months to fine-tune everything, adjust the bits that need it, and make sure my grand return is as brilliant (and chaotic) as it deserves to be,” Cyanide stated. “A much sharper adventure. An adventure worthy of slipping back into my slightly dirty, but perfectly stylish boots.”

Styx: Blades of Greed is a sequel in the Styx series, known for its challenging gameplay and darkly humorous tone. The game puts players in the role of Styx, a goblin assassin navigating a treacherous world. The extended development timeline suggests Cyanide is aiming to deliver a more ambitious and refined experience than initially planned.
