LAS VEGAS – TP-Link Systems inc. is aiming to simplify the increasingly complex smart home landscape with the debut of aireal, a new artificial intelligence assistant unveiled at CES 2026. The AI, integrated into the company’s Tapo and deco systems, promises to streamline device management through natural language control and proactive network optimization. This launch underscores a broader industry shift toward AI-powered solutions designed to enhance user experience and accessibility in the connected home market, a sector projected to reach $292.77 billion by 2028 according to recent Statista reports.
TP-Link Systems Inc. unveiled Aireal at CES 2026, a new artificial intelligence (IA) assistant designed to simplify the management of connected devices and smart home ecosystems. The company positions Aireal as a solution to streamline connectivity, making it faster and more intuitive for users.
Aireal’s cross-platform AI is built to work seamlessly across routers, cameras, lights, and other compatible devices, replacing traditional menu-based navigation with natural language control. According to the company, if a user encounters a configuration issue, Aireal can explain the problem in plain language and provide actionable steps for resolution, all while maintaining network security and user control.
Beyond simple detection, Aireal incorporates AI-powered event understanding, enabling users to search for video recordings conversationally. Users can simply ask questions or type keywords like “Show me when the package arrived,” “Find clips of strangers at my door,” or “What time did my kids get home?” to quickly locate relevant footage, reducing the need for manual scrolling. Aireal can also automate tasks between compatible devices by simply describing a desired routine in natural language, facilitating home automation.
To address notification fatigue, Aireal provides meaningful summaries and groups repetitive alerts, delivering clear and concise real-time notifications without requiring users to open the app. The assistant also offers personalized insights and recommendations regarding device placement, usage patterns, and product compatibility.
Working in the background, Aireal proactively optimizes network performance with features like AI QoS, anti-interference technology, and auto-recovery, prioritizing key activities and minimizing potential Wi-Fi issues before they impact the user experience. The system also helps households conserve energy and reduce costs through a router’s Eco Mode, which lowers power consumption without sacrificing network performance.
Aireal is now available on Tapo devices – including the Tapo C645D Kit, Tapo C465, and Tapo C710 – and Deco systems. The launch reflects a growing trend of AI integration into consumer networking hardware, aiming to make smart home technology more accessible and user-friendly.
