Valley of Fire State Park Opens New Visitor Center Today

Nevada State Parks celebrated the grand opening of the new Valley of Fire Visitor Center today, November 22, 2025, offering visitors an enhanced experience at the state’s oldest and most iconic park.

The opening ceremony began at 9:00 AM at the visitor center, located at 29450 Valley of Fire Rd, Overton, NV 89040, with remarks from park and state officials starting at 9:30 AM. A ribbon-cutting ceremony officially opened the state-of-the-art facility at 10:00 AM. The new center aims to accommodate the park’s increasing popularity and provide better educational resources for the nearly 2 million visitors it receives annually.

Guests can view the new 10-minute orientation film, “Valley of Fire: A Journey Through Time and Stone,” narrated by William Shatner, which will play on a continuous 15-minute loop starting at 11:00 AM. Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed food vendors, interactive booths from community partners, and special programs in the new 200-seat outdoor amphitheater. Valley of Fire’s unique geology and ancient petroglyphs make it a significant site for both recreation and archaeological study, as detailed by the National Park Service.

The celebration concluded at 3:00 PM, though the visitor center remained open until 4:00 PM. Regular operating hours for the visitor center will be 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily, officials said, promising a continued commitment to preserving and sharing the natural wonders of Valley of Fire.
