The family of Indonesian singer Vidi Aldiano has begun donating his belongings following his death on March 7, 2026, after a six-year battle with kidney cancer. The gesture reflects the family’s desire to give back and ensure the late artist’s possessions are put to good apply.
Vidi Aldiano’s mother, Besbarini, explained the decision, stating that the family didn’t want items to simply accumulate without purpose. “Here’s also intended as a charitable act for the deceased,” she said, according to reports.
Much of Vidi Aldiano’s clothing has been donated to orphanages and those in demand. Some items have been given to acquaintances, with one particular donation – a jacket – going to a religious leader for use during a 100-day period of Tahajud prayers.
The family also plans to release fish into a lake near Vidi Aldiano’s final resting place, continuing a tradition of charitable acts. Harry Kissowo, Vidi Aldiano’s father, shared details about the distribution of his son’s possessions to friends.
Vidi Aldiano, born Oxavia Aldiano on March 29, 1990, rose to fame with his 2008 debut album, Pelangi di Malam Hari, and hits like “Nuansa Bening” and “Status Palsu.” He received the MTV Indonesia Award for Most Favorite Male Artist in 2009. His 2016 album, Persona, achieved triple platinum certification within five months, selling 250,000 physical copies. The singer remained active in the Indonesian music scene until his passing, leaving behind a legacy as a singer-songwriter, actor, and media personality.
