Northeast-10 Conference Announces Weekly Award Winners in Men’s Soccer
The Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) announced its weekly award winners in men’s soccer today, recognizing outstanding performances from student-athletes across the league.
Dani Gonzalez of Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) was named NE10 Player of the Week after contributing to all three goals in the Penmen’s 3-2 victory over Jefferson on Saturday, scoring twice and adding an assist. Stephen Betz of Adelphi University earned NE10 Defensive Player of the Week honors, scoring the game-winning goal against Queens and anchoring a defense that secured back-to-back shutouts. Cam Hall of Bentley University was selected as the NE10 Goalie of the Week, recording a season-high nine saves against Franklin Pierce and earning his fifth shutout of the season against Assumption. Rounding out the awards, Ryan Holt of Adelphi was named NE10 Rookie of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal against AIC.
Betz, a transfer student, has quickly become a key component of the Adelphi defense, demonstrating the impact experienced players can have on a team. Hall’s consistent performance in goal has been crucial for Bentley, currently ranked among the top teams in the conference. These weekly awards highlight the competitive nature of the NE10, which sponsors 24 NCAA Division II sports and boasts over 4,500 student-athletes.
