Wilma Christine Kuebler, 84, of Alanson, Michigan, passed away yesterday, October 26, 2025, at American House in Petoskey, surrounded by family.
Born November 10, 1940, in Petoskey, Michigan, to Ernest and Wanda (Lutz) Kuebler, Wilma dedicated nearly four decades to public service within Emmet County. She was a graduate of Alanson High School, Jewett Career School, and Lansing Business University, and held membership in the American Society of Women Accountants. Her career included positions at Pioneer Insurance Company, Sears, Pellston Regional Airport, and the Emmet County finance department, where she retired in 2010.
Beyond her professional life, Kuebler enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including photography, art, music, and poetry, and had a lifelong love for animals and nature, particularly horses. She was an avid sports fan, following basketball, bowling, football, and horseback riding. Her passing represents a loss to the close-knit community of Emmet County, where she was a familiar and respected figure. Those wishing to honor her memory can contribute to the Salvation Army or the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society.
Wilma is survived by her siblings, Doris Budnik and Wayne Kuebler, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. A graveside service will be held at Littlefield Township Cemetery in Alanson in the spring of 2026; arrangements are being handled by Stone Funeral Home of Petoskey.
