wuling Motors Indonesia is experiencing strong demand for its new Darion MPV, exceeding 1,500 units in sales of both the all-electric and plug-in hybrid versions as of Friday, November 21, 2025. The achievement, announced at the GJAW 2025 automotive event in Tangerang, also marks a price adjustment for the vehicle following an initial limited-time offer. The “five diamonds” automaker is seeing notably strong interest in the fully electric model as it solidifies its position in Indonesia’s growing EV market.
Jakarta –
Wuling Motors Indonesia has surpassed 1,500 units in sales of its environmentally friendly MPV models, the Darion EV and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), the company announced Friday, November 21, 2025.
“As of today, the number has exceeded 1,500 and continues to grow,” said Danang Wiratmoko, Product Communication Manager of Wuling Motors, at the ICE BSD City in Tangerang.
Wuling initially offered the Darion at a special introductory price for the first 1,500 buyers. The EV model started at Rp 356 million, while the PHEV version began at Rp 439 million.

With the achievement of 1,500 pre-orders, Wuling has implemented a price adjustment for the Darion.
“The Darion EV now starts at Rp 359 million, and the PHEV begins at Rp 442 million. These prices are effective after the initial 1,500 pre-orders were fulfilled,” explained Brian Gomgom, Senior Manager of Brand Communication at Wuling Motors.
Demand for the Darion EV has outpaced the PHEV model, a trend Wuling attributes to its established reputation as an electric vehicle manufacturer. The company, nicknamed “five diamonds,” has become well-known for its EV offerings.

“The EV version currently dominates sales,” Gomgom stated.
“The PHEV is relatively new to the Indonesian market, having been introduced just last year. Wuling was also the first to produce a PHEV MPV, so it will take time for consumers to gain experience and knowledge about PHEV technology.”
“The greater popularity of the EV model is likely due to Wuling’s strong brand association with electric vehicles, making consumers more readily aware of our offerings,” he added.
The EV and PHEV variants share a similar design, with the primary visual difference being the grille. The PHEV features a diamond-cut grille, while the EV model, typical of electric vehicles, does not have a grille.
Under the hood, the Wuling Darion EV boasts a 150 kW (201 hp) electric motor delivering 310 Nm of torque, channeled through the front wheels with a Single Reduction transmission. Its 69.2 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery provides a range of up to 540 km (CLTC).
The Darion PHEV combines a 1.490 cc Naturally Aspirated Atkinson Cycle gasoline engine producing 105 hp and 130 Nm of torque with a 145 kW (195 hp) electric motor and 230 Nm of torque.
The Darion PHEV utilizes a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) with a 20.5 kWh battery, offering an EV-only range of 125 km. A 52-liter fuel tank extends the overall range to over 1,000 km with a full charge and tank of gasoline.
