Seth Rollins Stripped of World Heavyweight Championship After Injury

World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has been stripped of his title following injuries sustained both at Crown Jewel and in a recent attack by The Vision, WWE announced yesterday.

The announcement came during the opening segment of Raw on October 20, where General Manager Adam Pearce explained Rollins underwent “major surgery” and will be out of action for an extended period. Rollins was already dealing with injuries from his match against Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel before being attacked by The Vision last week. Bron Breakker, who was seen with the championship last week, was asked to relinquish the belt to Pearce.

Following Pearce’s announcement, Paul Heyman addressed the crowd, explaining The Vision’s turn on Rollins, stating he could not “shoulder” the responsibility of leading the group forward. This title change significantly alters the landscape of WWE’s main event scene, leaving a vacancy at the top of the heavyweight division. A new champion will be crowned at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1, with the competition beginning tonight on Raw as CM Punk will face the winner of a Battle Royal. WWE’s official website provides further details on the World Heavyweight Championship history and current roster. Officials have not yet provided a timeline for Rollins’ return.
