New High-End Audio and Camera Tech Unveiled This Week
Several companies announced new premium audio and camera products this week, ranging from immersive soundbars to high-resolution wireless earbuds and compact 360-degree cameras, signaling continued innovation in the consumer electronics space.
Focal debuted the Mu-so Hekla, a high-end wireless speaker designed to function as both a traditional speaker and a Dolby Atmos soundbar. The system features 15 drivers powered by 15 amplifiers, aiming to deliver “true high-fidelity performance with effortless simplicity,” according to the brand. Noble Audio unveiled the Fokus Prestige Encore wireless earbuds, crafted with solid wood and equipped with four drivers per earbud – a combination of dynamic, balanced armature, and planar magnetic technologies – supporting high-resolution audio via aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, and LDAC.
Bang & Olufsen introduced the Beosound Premiere, a Dolby Atmos soundbar distinguished by its sculptural, three-dimensional design intended to showcase its driver array. The soundbar utilizes 10 custom-engineered, individually amplified drivers delivering 580 watts of power and incorporating the company’s Wide Stage Technology for a more immersive audio experience; learn more about Dolby Atmos technology on the official Dolby website. Insta360 also released the X4 Air, a more affordable and compact 360-degree action camera, weighing just 165 grams and capable of capturing 8K video at 30fps.
The release of these products comes as consumers increasingly demand higher quality audio and video experiences in their homes and while on the go. The Insta360 X4 Air, for example, builds on the growing popularity of immersive content creation, as detailed in recent market analysis reports.
Company representatives stated they expect to begin shipping the new products in the coming weeks, with pre-orders already available on their respective websites.
Another week down, and, per usual, a bunch of new tech and gadgets have been announced.
This past week, Bang & Olufsen introduced a sculptural Dolby Atmos soundbar, Technics revealed a “Master Edition” version of its iconic turntable, and Focal announced a new flagship Mu-so wireless speaker. But that’s just scratching the surface.

The Fokus Prestige Encore is the American hi-fi brand’s premium set of wireless earbuds. Each earbud is made of solid wood and packs four drivers inside: an 8mm dynamic driver, two balanced armature drivers, and a 6mm planar magnetic driver. Together, the pair promises to deliver high-resolution audio over Bluetooth (thanks to support for aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive and LDAC). And they support active noise-cancellation and transparency modes.

Insta360’s X4 Air is a 360-degree action camera that is essentially a more affordable version of the company’s flagship X5. It’s notably smaller and lighter — in fact, at 165 grams, it’s Insta360’s lightest ever 360-degree action camera. Yet it’s still capable of capturing excellent 360-degree videos (up to 8K at 30 fps). The main trade-offs are its photo-capture capabilities (maxing out at 29-megapixel stills) and battery life, promising up to 88 minutes of runtime.
