Clermont County Residents Required to Submit Plans for Septic System Repairs & Replacements
Clermont County Public Health announced today, October 23, 2025, that residents seeking to repair or replace existing septic systems must submit detailed applications including specific documentation to the Public Health office before work can begin.
The application process requires submission of a floor plan on standard 8.5 x 11 inch paper, the property’s Parcel Identification Number (PIN) – obtainable through the Clermont County Auditor’s Office – and the property address. Additional requirements include confirmation of water main easements for properties connected to Tate-Monroe Water Association, reachable at (513) 734-2236, and the location of any geothermal systems on the property. A fee schedule is also available.
Applicants are advised that the application cannot be initiated until all required information is received. This increased scrutiny of septic systems aims to protect local water quality and public health, as aging or improperly maintained systems can pose environmental risks. More information about septic system regulations can be found at the Environmental Protection Agency.
Officials stated that the application process is now fully implemented and all repair or replacement projects must adhere to the new guidelines.
