Central Arkansas Dominates North Alabama 49-21 in UAC Matchup
Central Arkansas secured a decisive 49-21 victory over North Alabama today at Braly Stadium in Florence, Alabama, fueled by a dominant second quarter performance.
The Bears opened the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run by Landen Chambers, who went on to rush for 184 yards on 24 carries and score three touchdowns. North Alabama quickly responded, but Central Arkansas then exploded for 28 points in the second quarter, including a 37-yard touchdown pass from Austin Myers to Malachi Henry. Myers finished the game completing 11 of 22 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns, with Henry contributing five receptions for 119 yards and two touchdowns.
Defensively, Central Arkansas was led by Mark Dorsey, who recorded an interception and a sack. The win improves Central Arkansas’s overall record to 3-4 and their United Athletic Conference record to 2-1, positioning them for a potential playoff run in the UCA Athletics program. North Alabama fell to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play. The UAC is in its second season after forming from the remnants of the ASUN and WAC conferences.
Central Arkansas will next travel to Carrollton, Georgia, to face West Georgia on October 25th at 1:00 PM CST. Officials stated the team is focused on maintaining momentum as they head into the second half of the season.
