Central Connecticut Extends Winning Streak to Nine with Dominant Victory Over Stonehill

Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) defeated Stonehill College 40-10 today, remaining undefeated in Northeast Conference (NEC) play and continuing a remarkable run of form.

Elijah Howard led the Blue Devils’ offense with 178 rushing yards and two touchdowns, including a 93-yard score in the second quarter. Quarterback Brady Olson added 261 passing yards and two touchdowns of his own, connecting with Ricky Ortega and Sean O’Brien for 12-yard touchdowns. Howard’s performance marked the 12th time in his career he has surpassed 100 rushing yards. This victory extends CCSU’s NEC winning streak to nine games, dating back to last season.

Stonehill’s Jack O’Connell threw for 160 yards and one touchdown in the loss. The Blue Devils’ strong home record – 10-1 over the past two seasons – proved pivotal in securing their fifth consecutive win this year, the program’s longest winning streak since 2019. College football rankings are constantly shifting, and this win could impact CCSU’s position in future polls; you can find the latest AP Top 25 poll here.

CCSU will continue its season with three of its remaining four November games at home. Officials stated the team is focused on maintaining its momentum as they approach the end of the regular season and potentially a playoff berth; more information on the Northeast Conference can be found on their official website.
