Four Firefighters Injured Battling Five-Alarm Blaze in Bronx Auto Shop
Four New York City firefighters were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries yesterday after a large fire erupted at an auto shop in the Bronx.
The fire department responded to the scene on East Tremont Avenue, between East 180th Street and Commonwealth Avenue, at approximately 11:30 a.m. on November 8, 2025. The blaze quickly escalated to five alarms, consuming the auto shop and causing a partial collapse of the building’s rear section, according to fire officials. Hundreds of firefighters and paramedics worked for over two and a half hours to extinguish the fire, bringing it under control just before 2:30 p.m.
The fire’s spread extended to two adjacent buildings, resulting in the displacement of approximately 16 residents.
