Courtois revealed that the Real Madrid locker room isn’t entirely without tension. The goalkeeper explained that some players are understandably unhappy with limited playing opportunities.

“I don’t feel there’s a bad relationship with the manager, but in the dressing room there are always people who are a little less happy because they aren’t playing much or playing differently,” Thibaut Courtois told Partidazo de COPE.

“However, we always discuss things directly in meetings, and there are no problems. And I’m a 33-year-old player and I can take command, but that’s not something we need because we’re all heading in the same direction,” he added.

Despite the reported internal discussions, Real Madrid remains firmly in control atop the La Liga standings. Kylian Mbappe and his teammates hold a three-point advantage over Barcelona (2). Following the international break, Madrid will face Elche in league play before traveling to Greece to take on Olympiacos in a Champions League fixture.
