Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights Return with New Attractions
Universal Studios Hollywood launched its annual Halloween Horror Nights yesterday, September 4, featuring eight new and returning haunted houses, the Terror Tram, and various scare zones, running on select nights through November 2.
This year’s event draws inspiration from popular franchises like “Fallout,” based on the Prime Video series, and “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” stemming from the Blumhouse film. Guests can also experience terrifying landscapes inspired by “Terrifier,” “WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks,” “Jason Universe,” and “Poltergeist.” The event is a significant economic driver for the Los Angeles area, attracting tourists and horror enthusiasts from across the country.
“Scarecrow: Music by SLASH” is a particularly notable addition, with an original score by the musician amplifying the experience as guests navigate a vengeful farmland setting. According to Universal Studios Hollywood’s public relations manager, Diana O’Campo, the attraction “puts retribution at the forefront as Mother Nature seeks vengeance on homesteaders for past sins.” Returning favorites include “Monstruos 3: The Ghosts of Latin America” and “Terror Tram: Enter the Blumhouse,” offering continued thrills for repeat visitors. For those interested in the history of haunted attractions, the Haunted Attraction Association provides resources and information.
Beyond the haunted houses, visitors can enjoy live entertainment like “The Purge: Dangerous Waters” and themed scare zones, alongside access to select theme park rides including “Jurassic World—The Ride” and “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.” Universal Studios Hollywood officials stated they anticipate high attendance throughout the event’s run and encourage guests to purchase tickets in advance.
