IU Indianapolis Seeks Digital Forensics Lecturer to Launch New Program
Indiana University Indianapolis (IU Indianapolis) is accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer position in digital forensics, beginning in Fall 2025, to support a new Bachelor of Science degree program in the field.
The position, housed within one of six departments in the School of Science – including Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology – will focus on developing and teaching courses related to digital forensics, mobile devices, and the Internet of Things. The Forensic and Investigative Science (FIS) Program, which is FEPAC accredited, currently boasts over 260 students and is experiencing annual growth of over 100 students per academic term. This expansion reflects a growing demand for skilled professionals in the rapidly evolving field of digital investigation.
Applicants must hold a minimum of a Master of Science degree in Forensic Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in digital forensics. Industry experience analyzing digital evidence in civil or criminal cases is highly valued, as is prior university-level teaching experience. Non-tenure track faculty will have service and scholarly work expectations, with opportunities for promotion to Senior Lecturer and Teaching Professor. Further details about the FIS Program can be found on the IU Indianapolis website.
The review of applications will begin on May 30, 2025, and continue until the position is filled, according to IU Indianapolis officials. Dr. Ryan J. Eller (ryeller@iu.edu) is the department contact for questions regarding the position.
