Hair loss affects millions, and while numerous treatments exist, a new study suggests a surprisingly accessible option: onion juice.Researchers have investigated the long-held belief in this natural remedy, with a recently published analysis in The journal of Dermatology showing promising results for those with alopecia areata,an autoimmune-related hair loss condition. The study, involving a controlled trial, indicates significant hair regrowth in the majority of participants using onion juice topically, offering a potential new avenue for managing this and perhaps other forms of hair loss.

Hair loss is a concern for both men and women. However, a new scientific study suggests a promising natural alternative: onions.

For generations, this ingredient has been part of traditional home remedies, and now science is beginning to support its effectiveness.

The study, published in The Journal of Dermatology, analyzed the effects of onion juice on alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition that causes patchy hair loss.

Researchers recruited individuals diagnosed with the condition and divided them into two groups: one applied onion juice to the scalp twice daily for eight weeks, while the other used only water.

The results were significant. Within just two weeks, most participants using onion juice showed signs of hair regrowth. By the end of the study, 87 percent of this group had hair regrowth in affected areas, compared to 13 percent in the control group.
