Venice Area Experiencing Widespread Power Outage

A significant power outage is currently affecting multiple neighborhoods within the Venice area today, October 29, 2025, at 2:52 PM PST.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) confirmed the outage and stated that crews have been dispatched to identify the cause and begin restoration efforts. The affected areas include residential and commercial districts along the westside, impacting traffic signals and potentially disrupting local businesses. This outage comes during a period of increased energy demand as temperatures begin to drop.

While the exact number of customers affected is still being determined, LADWP representatives indicated the issue is widespread. “We are aware of the outage and are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power,” a LADWP spokesperson said. Residents are encouraged to check the LADWP Outage Center for updates and to report any downed power lines. For information on preparing for power outages, visit the Ready.gov website.

LADWP has not yet released an estimated time for full power restoration, but crews are continuing to assess the situation and will provide updates as they become available. Residents are advised to treat all downed power lines as live and to exercise caution.
