Subianto then proceeded to a waiting helicopter, preparing for his flight to Bireuen. He is accompanied by a team of ministers and advisors, including State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Head of Government Communication Angga Raka Prabowo.

This marks Subianto’s second visit to Aceh province to survey the flood damage, having previously inspected the situation in Kutacane, Aceh Tenggara Regency, on December 1.

During Sunday’s visit, Subianto is expected to examine areas severely damaged by the floods, monitor the distribution of aid, oversee evacuation efforts, and assess road access. The scale of the disaster has prompted the president to prioritize relief efforts in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

Subianto has directed that all available resources be deployed to expedite recovery in the affected regions. According to data released by the BNPB on Sunday, the floods have claimed the lives of 916 people across the three provinces, with an additional 274 people still missing and over 4,200 injured.

The flooding has also displaced hundreds of thousands of residents across 52 cities and regencies, with Aceh bearing the brunt of the casualties.
