Lawrence “Bud” Weisz, Minnesota Business Owner, Dies at 83

Lawrence “Bud” Weisz, a longtime construction equipment dealer and resident of Spring Valley, Minnesota, passed away yesterday, October 10th, 2025, at Ostrander Nursing Care and Rehabilitation in Ostrander, MN, at the age of 83.

Born July 22, 1942, in Bellevue, Ohio, to Lawrence and Dorothy Weisz, Bud earned a degree in accounting and business management from Tiffin University and served six years in the Army Reserve. He spent 15 years as a District Manager with the J.L. Case Company before founding and operating Weisz Equipment in Spring Valley for 23 years. His business played a significant role in supporting local construction and agricultural projects throughout southeastern Minnesota.

Bud was known for his community involvement and passions, including attending auctions, passionately following the Minnesota Vikings, and frequenting Sweets in LeRoy, Minnesota, where he was considered family. He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Michelle) Weisz of Plainview, MN, and Brian (Chrissy) Weisz of Dover, MN, as well as five grandchildren – Ashley, Lauren, Hannah, Andrew, and Grace – and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 19th, 2025, from 1-3 p.m. at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley. The family has expressed gratitude for the care provided by the Ostrander Care and Rehabilitation team. Online condolences may be left through the funeral home’s website.
