Police in Nordland reported that a garage was blown onto Nordmarkveien in Finneidfjord on the Helgeland coast just before 5 a.m. Saturday.

“No injuries have been reported. The road is partially blocked, and the owner has been notified,” authorities said.

Strong wind gusts are forecast across much of the country on Saturday, with the most severe conditions expected in the north.

“We’re crossing our fingers that no one is out there now and could be hit by loose objects. The wind is incredibly strong out there right now,” said Kai Henrik Eriksen, operations leader for the Nordland police district.

E6 Over Saltfjellet Closed

Due to the storm impacting Nordland and other areas, the E6 highway over Saltfjellet was closed overnight into Saturday. It is currently unknown when the road will reopen.

The road is closed between the Bolna toll station and the Sørelva toll station. Travelers from southern Norway to northern Norway will need to drive through Sweden.
