The United States has presented a peace proposal for Ukraine and Russia, with a deadline for Kyiv to respond by November 27th, according to former President Donald Trump. The development comes as the conflict continues to draw international concern and efforts to find a resolution remain ongoing.
“I have many deadlines, but if things go well, we’re inclined to extend the deadline. But Thursday, we think, is the appropriate time,” Trump said, as reported by AFP on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025.
Trump made the statement during a Friday, November 21st interview on Fox Radio, responding to a question about whether Ukraine had been given until next Thursday to approve a 28-point U.S. plan aimed at halting the conflict.

The proposed plan reportedly involves Ukraine ceding portions of its eastern territory to Russia and reducing its military forces.
Under the terms of the proposal, Kyiv would also pledge to never join NATO and forgo the Western peacekeeping forces it has requested, although European fighter jets would be stationed in Poland to provide protection for Ukraine.
Trump asserted that continued fighting would only result in Ukraine losing the territories it would be required to concede to Russia if the plan were adopted.
“You say what you want, they’re very brave,” he remarked regarding the Ukrainian forces fighting against Russia.
Trump also addressed indications that Russian President Vladimir Putin might order an attack on Ukraine. “President Vladimir Putin ‘doesn’t want a war anymore,’” the former leader stated when asked about the possibility of Russia attacking other European countries following its February 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
Trump further claimed that Putin “has been punished” for the nearly four-year-long conflict, adding that the situation “should have only been a one-day war.”
