Teh United Arab Emirates continues to expand its humanitarian efforts in Gaza, with a 244th aid convoy entering the region today as part of “Operation Gallant Knight 3.” This latest delivery focuses on the especially vulnerable population of orphaned children, launching the “For the Children of Al-Zaytoun” initiative to provide critical supplies and support. The UAE has committed over 100,000 tons of aid to date through the ongoing operation, demonstrating a sustained commitment to alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
A 244th aid convoy from the United Arab Emirates entered the Gaza Strip today as part of “Operation Gallant Knight 3,” delivering a new initiative called “For the Children of Al-Zaytoun” specifically designed to support orphans in Gaza and provide them with essential supplies. The delivery underscores the UAE’s ongoing commitment to assisting Palestinians.
The convoy consisted of 22 trucks carrying approximately 426 tons of humanitarian aid, including “Al-Zaytoun Clothing” packages for children, containing new clothes and necessities, as well as food parcels, rice, and shelter materials to meet the needs of affected families in the region.
“This convoy carries a special humanitarian dimension, as a significant portion is dedicated to orphaned children in the Gaza Strip through the ‘For the Children of Al-Zaytoun’ initiative,” said Ahmed Al-Niyadi, Deputy Director of the UAE’s Logistics Center for Humanitarian Aid to Gaza in El Arish. “The packages include new clothing and supplies for children. Through ‘Operation Gallant Knight 3,’ we value this great humanitarian effort and hope it contributes, even in a small way, to bringing a smile and joy to the hearts of children in these difficult circumstances.”
The “For the Children of Al-Zaytoun” initiative was launched last Ramadan by Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of The Big Heart Foundation, and a prominent advocate for refugee children with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, in partnership with the Palestinian Cooperation Association. The initiative aims to care for more than 20,000 orphans in Gaza, ensuring their right to education, healthcare, psychological support, and basic needs until they reach adulthood.
As part of the campaign, The Big Heart Foundation launched the “Al-Zaytoun Clothing” initiative to provide a child essentials kit, including new clothes and necessities for children in Gaza, contributing to improving their living conditions and bringing some joy to their daily lives amidst the current humanitarian situation.
The “For the Children of Al-Zaytoun” campaign exemplifies the UAE’s solidarity and humanitarian cooperation with the children of Gaza. The initiative was implemented in collaboration with “Operation Gallant Knight 3” to prepare and deliver aid boxes into the Gaza Strip through the logistics center in El Arish, within a field operation that ensures the aid reaches those who need it as quickly as possible.
Today’s convoy is part of a series of convoys and programs implemented by “Operation Gallant Knight 3,” launched by the UAE to assist the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip through an integrated bridge of air, sea, and land aid. The operation involves extensive participation from Emirati humanitarian institutions and organizations, reflecting the country’s unwavering commitment to a consistent humanitarian approach.
Al-Niyadi added that “Operation Gallant Knight 3” is an extension of the UAE’s humanitarian work, embodying the position of the leadership and people of the UAE in standing with the Palestinian people. He affirmed that “Operation Gallant Knight 3” continues to play its role in cooperation with various Emirati charitable and humanitarian institutions, to provide support, assistance, and relief to the people of the Gaza Strip in every possible way.
“Operation Gallant Knight 3,” launched over two years ago in response to directives from the UAE’s leadership, continues its efforts to secure food, medicine, shelter, healthcare, and psychological and social support for those in Gaza. The operation has established a fully integrated logistics center in El Arish, managed by the UAE’s humanitarian aid team, which coordinates and manages relief convoys on an ongoing basis, contributing to the delivery of more than 100,000 tons of aid to date. This demonstrates the UAE’s firm stance in standing with the Palestinian people and alleviating their suffering by all available means.
