Vivo is set to launch its S50 and S50 Pro Mini smartphones December 15th, initially in China, building on the company’s focus on stylish design and high-performance features within the mid-to-premium market. The Pro mini model, in particular, is attracting attention for its inclusion of flagship-level hardware, notably the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, and a reported AnTuTu score exceeding 3 million. These upcoming devices represent a meaningful upgrade over Vivo’s previous S30 series, with improvements spanning processing power, camera technology, and security features.
Jakarta –
Vivo has confirmed a December 15, 2025 launch date for its latest smartphone duo, the Vivo S50 and Vivo S50 Pro Mini, initially slated for release in China. The new S series aims to build on Vivo’s reputation for premium design, strong performance, and high-end camera capabilities within the mid-range premium segment.
The Vivo S50 Pro Mini is generating significant attention thanks to its Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset – the newest generation flagship processor – which achieved an AnTuTu score exceeding 3 million points. This represents a performance leap of over 1 million points compared to previous mid-range averages. The phone also features LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, optimizing read and write speeds.
The standard Vivo S50 model is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a substantial upgrade from the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 previously used in the S30 series. This combination is designed to deliver improved gaming performance and power efficiency.

Both models will incorporate a second-generation 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, making them the first in their price range to offer this feature as standard. This technology offers enhanced security and convenience compared to traditional optical sensors.
The Vivo S50 Pro Mini will sport a 6.31-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Vivo S50 will feature a larger 6.59-inch OLED screen. Both displays are designed to provide an immersive viewing experience for videos, scrolling, and high-frame-rate gaming.

Photography remains a key strength of the series. Both the Vivo S50 and S50 Pro Mini will be equipped with a 1/1.95-inch Sony IMX882 sensor, paired with a periscope lens for improved optical zoom stability and detail. This combination aims to deliver professional-quality images in a variety of conditions.
The Pro Mini variant specifically includes a VCS ultra-sensitive bionic main camera with a large sensor, designed to enhance light sensitivity and reduce noise in low-light photography.
Both models feature a 50MP anti-distortion front-facing camera with soft lighting and full-focal-length zoom flash – features previously reserved for Vivo’s flagship devices. Portrait algorithms have also been refined to produce more natural skin tones, preserve facial details, and minimize excessive AI distortion.
From a design perspective, the Vivo S50 Pro Mini features a horizontal camera module, while the Vivo S50 utilizes a rectangular module. All models incorporate aerospace-grade aluminum frames and a satin lithography process, providing a smooth touch and a luxurious aesthetic.
