Belmont Native Natalie Common Wins Three First-Place Medals, Earns Pro Card in OCB Fitness Competition
Natalie Common, a resident of Allegany County, New York, achieved a remarkable victory today, winning first place in three divisions at the OCB New York Natural fitness competition in Syracuse, NY, and earning her professional status.
Common competed in the Debut, Novice, and Open divisions – the Open division carrying pro card eligibility – and secured first place in each. “I won all three classes winning me my pro card at my first show !!!” Common stated. This achievement allows her to compete exclusively in professional-level OCB events. The OCB (Organization of Competitive Bodybuilding) is a leading natural bodybuilding organization, emphasizing drug-free competition.
Common’s fitness journey began in childhood with gymnastics and various school sports, but a desire to compete in a fitness show sparked over a decade ago after attending a competition featuring Emily Waite. She recently returned to the Wellsville area in July after a brief time away, and began training 22 weeks prior to the competition, working with a trainer for the final 15 weeks. “When I moved back to the area in July it just felt like a fresh start and the perfect time to start training for something I had dreamed about for so long,” she explained. Her training regimen, supported by JB’s Family Fitness, involved six to seven days a week of weight training and cardio, and a strict meal plan crafted by her trainer, Jenny Chan. Common also balances her fitness pursuits with a career as a hair and beauty stylist at Salon Visage in Wellsville.
Common’s next goal is to compete in the Yorton Cup in North Carolina in September 2026, considered the “Super Bowl” of OCB competitions. She is also open to sponsorship opportunities, and can be reached at NatalieCommon@yahoo.com. Officials confirmed that Common successfully passed a polygraph and urinalysis test, verifying adherence to the OCB’s strict drug-free standards.
