AI-Powered Health App Bevel Raises $10 Million Series A
Bevel, a New York-based health tech startup, has secured $10 million in Series A funding led by General Catalyst to expand its artificial intelligence-driven health companion platform, which consolidates data from wearables and daily habits to provide personalized health insights.
The company reports significant growth, reaching over 100,000 daily active users in the past year, with users opening the app an average of eight times per day and maintaining over 80% retention after 90 days – metrics rarely seen in the competitive health and fitness app market. This funding comes as more individuals seek tools to proactively manage their well-being and understand the connections between different aspects of their health.
Bevel differentiates itself by focusing on software integration with existing wearables like the Apple Watch and continuous glucose monitors such as Dexcom and Libre, rather than requiring users to purchase proprietary hardware. “A $500 ring or band is out of reach for a lot of people,” explained co-founder and board member Aditya Agarwal. “We already generate so much valuable health data from our primary wearables and other everyday sources. We wanted to make something that was more accessible across a much larger set of people.” The app is available for $6 monthly or $50 annually. Founded in late 2023, Bevel emerged from the founders’ personal experiences with health challenges and a desire to understand the interconnectedness of lifestyle factors. CEO Grey Nguyen stated, “We think of health as a continuous journey, not a phase,” adding that Bevel “meets you where you are, learns from your habits, and helps you make small changes that compound over time.” The company plans to use the new funding to grow its team and expand its services, potentially integrating with more health platforms like Garmin.
General Catalyst managing director Neeraj Arora stated the firm is “excited to support this team as they build the future of personal health.” Bevel intends to continue its focus on accessibility and intelligence in the health tech space.
