Chun-Li DLC Arrives in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves This Week
SNK announced today that the highly anticipated Chun-Li downloadable content for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be available November 5th, bringing the iconic Street Fighter character to the fighting game.
The character’s arrival is included as part of the Season 1 Pass, which was previously offered as a free bundle with the core game. Chun-Li’s integration into City of the Wolves closely mirrors her design in Street Fighter 6, but features an expanded moveset with a greater emphasis on her signature turbo kicks. SNK describes Chun-Li as a “battle-hardened Metro City agent” investigating a criminal resurgence in South Town.
Players can expect a dedicated Arcade ladder with unique cut-scenes and story content for Chun-Li, as well as full integration into the game’s RPG mode, Episodes of South Town. Both her classic and modern outfits will be available for selection. This addition expands the roster of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, a title praised for its engaging gameplay and faithful recreation of the classic fighting game series.
SNK also acknowledged a nod to classic promotional art with a reference in the character’s trailer. The company has released two new trailers showcasing Chun-Li’s abilities, including an animated short, which can be viewed here.
SNK officials stated that further updates regarding future DLC and game content will be announced in the coming weeks.
Update []:
SNK has now attached a date to its Chun-Li DLC for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and she’s launching this week.
You’ll be able to download the character from 5th November as part of the Season 1 Pass, which most of you will own as it was essentially bundled with the core game for free.
To mark the occasion, the company has released two new trailers, including a particularly enjoyable animated short, both of which are embedded below.
Original Story: Chun-Li is such an enormously popular Street Fighter character she was always going to be a key addition to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
And now we’ve seen her in action in the SNK fighter, we can comfortably say she’s shaping up to be one hell of an addition. She’s due out later this year.
Much like Ken she closely follows her Street Fighter 6 counterpart, but she has more turbo kicks than ever here, as she aggressively piles on her rival Mai.
Here’s her blurb from the press release:
“Chun-Li, a battle-hardened Metro City agent, arrives in South Town, by request, to investigate the resurgence of an infamous criminal syndicate. Few wolves here can match the strength, style, and grace of this World Warrior—let alone best her outright. Perhaps the only one who can hold a candle to her is the fiery kunoichi of the Shiranui clan.”
We also have to acknowledge the “boob kiss” in the trailer, which real ones will remember references promo art from SNK vs Capcom back in the day.
Chun-Li will have her own Arcade ladder with cut-scenes and story content, and she’ll also be playable in the title’s RPG mode Episodes of South Town if you’re itching for more narrative.
She’ll also have both her modern and classic outfits available to select.
Are you excited for Chun-Li’s addition to City of the Wolves, or have you already fallen off the SNK fighter? We still maintain this is one of the better brawlers on PlayStation right now.
