Liverpool FC Expands Mental Health Support Programs on World Mental Health Day
Liverpool Football Club and its foundation are significantly expanding mental health initiatives today, October 10, 2025, offering support to fans, youth, and the wider Liverpool City Region community.
The club launched the “Kicking Off Conversations” hub at Anfield last month, coinciding with the Merseyside derby, and has already assisted nearly 40 supporters seeking a safe space to discuss mental wellbeing and access resources. Delivered in partnership with Samaritans, the initiative provides support on Premier League matchdays. Additional programs like Red Hot Beats, Sound Minds, and On Target Extra are dedicated to equipping children and young adults with coping skills and emotional understanding.
Beyond programs for youth, the LFC Foundation’s Red Neighbours team addresses social isolation through the Welcome Reds project, connecting fans in inclusive environments. This is particularly important as social isolation is increasingly linked to declining mental and physical health. Further details on the LFC Foundation’s community programs can be found here.
Internally, Liverpool FC is also prioritizing employee wellbeing with activities like wellbeing walks and meditation sessions as part of its Red Together initiative, which falls under The Red Way – the club’s commitment to positive community impact. Officials stated that these efforts reflect a continued dedication to supporting the mental health of everyone connected to the club.
