Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa Expands Connecticut Presence, Names New Chief Development Officer

Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa is expanding its footprint in Connecticut with new locations planned for Stamford, Cheshire, and Berlin, while simultaneously appointing Matthew Stanton as its new Chief Development Officer.

The franchise-based spa company, with 600 locations nationwide and three existing Connecticut sites in Orange, Norwalk, and Brookfield, aims to make wellness services more accessible. The wellness industry has seen significant growth in recent years as more people prioritize self-care and preventative health measures.

Rob Tobias, a Hand & Stone franchisee and owner of locations in Orange and Norwalk for the past 10 years, noted the positive impact of the brand. “When we converted to Hand and Stone it was the best thing we ever did,” he said, adding that he observes a noticeable improvement in clients’ demeanor from arrival to departure. Tobias emphasized the personalized skincare analysis offered, stating, “We do more aesthetics than any other places like it in the country. We make a real difference in their skin.” A 60-minute massage or skincare appointment costs $89.95. You can learn more about the benefits of massage therapy from the Mayo Clinic.

Matthew Stanton brings over 15 years of franchise leadership experience, previously serving as Chief Development Officer at Purpose Brands, overseeing Anytime Fitness and Orangetheory Fitness. According to Hand & Stone President and CEO John Teza, “Matthew’s experience scaling some of the nation’s top fitness and wellness franchises makes him an invaluable addition to our leadership team.” The new locations are slated to open next year, and Stanton will focus on continuing the brand’s growth and supporting its franchisees.
