OACPS Entrepreneurs Invited to Submit Cashew Value Chain Ideas for Funding
A call for ideas is underway, inviting young and emerging entrepreneurs in the cashew sector within member states of the Organisation of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS) to submit proposals for investment-ready, climate-smart ventures.
The MOVE-ComCashew initiative, launched earlier this week, offers entrepreneurs the opportunity to receive up to 2,000 EUR in direct funding, along with equipment like laptops and tablets, expert mentoring, and connections to financial institutions. The program aims to bolster sustainable food systems and rural livelihoods by supporting viable business ideas that adopt low-emission, climate-resilient practices. This initiative is particularly important as climate change increasingly threatens agricultural production in vulnerable regions.
To be eligible, applicants must first register on atingi or the e-MOVE landing page and complete two mandatory e-learning courses: “Introduction to Conservation Agriculture” and “Creating an Investment-Ready Agribusiness.” Applicants will then need to complete an AgriCanvas – a Business Model Canvas template – detailing their cashew value chain idea, which serves as the official submission format. Proof of course completion, in the form of a certificate ID, is required with all submissions.
The deadline for submissions is November 7, 2025. MOVE-ComCashew officials stated that they are looking for innovative ideas that can drive economic growth and environmental sustainability within the cashew sector, and encourage all eligible entrepreneurs to participate.
