New Leadership Training Program Focuses on Neurodiversity and Psychological Safety

A new virtual training program designed to foster inclusive leadership, with a focus on neurodiversity and trauma-informed principles, begins next week and aims to equip leaders with skills to build more supportive and equitable workplaces.

The eight-session program, starting Tuesday, October 14th and running through November 6th, will be held entirely online from 12:00–1:00 PM each Tuesday and Thursday. Participants will explore intersectionality, understand how identity impacts workplace experiences, and learn to assess policies for inclusivity. The training emphasizes creating psychologically safe environments for all team members, recognizing the impact of trauma, and embracing neurodiversity through inclusive practices.

Upon completion of all sessions and requirements, participants are eligible for a Neuroinclusive Leadership microcredential, which can be displayed on professional platforms like LinkedIn. This credential signifies a commitment to creating more inclusive work environments, a growing priority for many organizations. Understanding these principles is increasingly vital as companies strive to attract and retain talent in a competitive job market; research from Deloitte shows inclusive teams are six times more likely to be innovative.

The program is designed for individuals looking to strengthen their leadership abilities in a rapidly evolving digital workplace and reflect on their own biases and privileges. Officials stated the training will help participants build compassionate and trusting spaces and recognize the nuances of intersectionality beyond neuroidentity. More information on inclusive leadership can be found at the Society for Human Resource Management website.

Program organizers say they will continue to offer similar training opportunities in the future to meet the increasing demand for inclusive leadership development.
