Sutter Health to Open First Building in $800 Million Santa Clara Medical Hubs
Sutter Health is preparing to begin patient care at the first building within its planned East Santa Clara Campus, part of an $800 million investment in healthcare infrastructure for the South Bay.
Yesterday, Sutter Health held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new medical office located at 2441 Mission College Boulevard in Santa Clara. The 103,000-square-foot facility will open to patients on October 20th and will focus on comprehensive primary care, pediatric care, and urgent care services. This expansion addresses the growing healthcare needs of Silicon Valley’s rapidly expanding population.
The East Santa Clara campus, leased from the Sobrato Organization, will eventually total 300,000 square feet and include an advanced diagnostic lab and specialty clinics in areas like cardiology, neurology, and urology. “It’s a beautiful building, and it has a warm, soothing and healing environment,” said Teresa Sarlitto, a Sutter Health vice president for Silicon Valley ambulatory operations and facilities planning. “We want our patients, physicians and staff to be able to enjoy that environment.” More than 100 physicians and advanced practice clinicians will staff the first building, with the Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group actively recruiting for positions across both Santa Clara campuses.
Sutter Health is also developing a West Santa Clara Campus, totaling 700,000 square feet, which will specialize in orthopedics, sports medicine, cancer care, women’s health, and heart and vascular care. The opening of specialty clinics is anticipated in 2026. You can learn more about public health initiatives and healthcare access on the CDC website.
Sutter officials stated that the new facilities are designed to improve services for patients throughout the South Bay.
