Multiple NFL Stars Suffer Injuries, Including Chargers’ Omarion Hampton
A wave of injuries is impacting teams across the NFL, with several key players sustaining setbacks in recent games, most notably Chargers running back Omarion Hampton.
The Los Angeles Chargers have placed running back Omarion Hampton on injured reserve with an ankle injury, sidelining him for at least the next four games. Hampton joins a growing list of injured running backs, including teammates Najee Harris, as well as James Conner, Trey Benson, Chuba Hubbard, Jaylen Warren, Tyrone Tracy, and Bucky Irving. Elsewhere, Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl guard Landon Dickerson suffered an ankle injury during yesterday’s loss to the Denver Broncos and did not return to the game, reportedly limping postgame with a wrapped ankle.
The Seattle Seahawks are also dealing with significant injuries, as cornerback Riq Woolen sustained a concussion and linebacker Derick Hall suffered an oblique injury during their 38-35 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray briefly left his team’s game against the Tennessee Titans with a foot injury but was able to return, though the Cardinals ultimately fell to the previously winless Titans. Other notable injuries include Buffalo Bills linebacker Matt Milano (pectoral), Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold (shoulder), Dallas Cowboys linebacker Jack Sanborn (concussion), New England Patriots running back Antonio Gibson (knee), and New Orleans Saints safety Justin Reid (concussion). Spotrac maintains a comprehensive list of current NFL injuries.
These injuries come at a critical point in the season, potentially impacting playoff contention for several teams. Team officials have stated they are evaluating each player’s condition and will provide updates as they become available.
