King Charles III Leads Remembrance Sunday Service in London

King Charles III, alongside other senior members of the royal family and political leaders, is leading the national memorial service at the Cenotaph in central London today, November 9, 2025.

Approximately 10,000 armed forces veterans are participating in the Royal British Legion’s march-past through Whitehall, including around 20 veterans of World War Two. The annual Remembrance Sunday service honors the service and sacrifice of all those who have defended the nation, and is a key moment for national reflection.

A two-minute silence is being observed across the country at 11:00 GMT. Events are taking place nationwide to commemorate Remembrance Day, a tradition dating back to the aftermath of the First World War. For more information on the history of Remembrance Day, visit the Royal British Legion website.

This is the first Remembrance Sunday service led by King Charles III as monarch, following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. You can find further details about the royal family’s involvement in remembrance events here on Headlinez News.

Officials have stated that the service will continue as planned, offering a moment of national unity and remembrance.
