Fans of the stealth-action RPG series Styx will have to wait a bit longer to resume their adventures as a goblin assassin. Cyanide Studio today announced a delay for Styx: Blades of Greed, the third main installment, moving its launch date to February 19, 2026. The postponement, revealed via a new trailer, reflects a broader trend of lengthening growth cycles within the gaming industry as titles grow in scope and complexity.

The stealth-action RPG Styx: Blades of Greed, the third installment in the Styx series, will now launch on February 19, 2026, Cyanide Studio announced today. Originally slated for release in fall 2025, the game’s launch has been pushed back, as revealed in a new trailer.

The brief video showcases patrolling guards before focusing on a piece of paper bearing Styx’s likeness. The original 2025 release date is crossed out, replaced with a handwritten “2026,” ultimately confirming the February 19th launch date. This delay comes as game development cycles continue to lengthen, reflecting the increasing complexity of modern titles.

Players will once again step into the role of Styx, the goblin assassin, as he seeks to acquire Quartz – a rare and powerful magical resource. To succeed, Styx will need to utilize new abilities, including a grappling hook and a glider, allowing for aerial attacks and expanded traversal options. The game builds on the series’ established stealth mechanics, offering players new ways to approach objectives.

Styx first appeared in 2012 as a supporting character in Of Orcs and Men before receiving his first standalone title, Styx: Master of Shadows, in 2014. The success of the initial game led to a sequel, Styx: Shards of Darkness, released in 2017.

Styx: Blades of Greed is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
