Woodlawn’s Deitric Young Named Central Alabama Player of the Week
Deitric Young of Woodlawn High School was voted the Week 8 Central Alabama Player of the Week following a standout performance against Jackson-Olin.
Young secured 51 percent of the 733 total votes, surpassing Parker’s Chancellor Sparks (22 percent) and Helena’s Jonathan Roberto. His impressive stat line included 5 receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown, alongside 6 tackles and 2 tackles for loss on defense. He also made a significant impact on special teams, returning a fumble 60 yards for another score. This recognition highlights the growing talent within the Central Alabama high school football scene.
Voting for the Week 9 Player of the Week is now open and will continue until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, with the winner announced Thursday on social media and featured in next Sunday’s poll.
